may run in reverse. Please enquire at time of booking.
Day
1.
(Lunch
& Dinner)
After
picking you up from your accommodation in Alice Springs bright
and early from 5.45am, we complete ticketing and introductions
and then hit the road on our adventure of a lifetime. (For
those commencing the tour at Uluru we will collect you from
the airport or Ayers Rock Resort)
Our
journey begins heading south to Erldunda travelling through
the Waterhouse and James Ranges with a stop at The Camel Farm
for refreshments and a Camel ride if you're keen +. We also
stop at Mt Ebenezer Roadhouse where you can view or purchase
Aboriginal artifacts. On the way to Uluru (Ayers Rock) we
stop to view Atila (Mount Connor), a mesa tableland and the
first significant rock formation of our trip.
After
a stop for lunch and our arrival at the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National
Park, we head to the Cultural Centre and the opportunity to
learn about the local Aboriginal law and religion (Tjukurpa)
before a short guided walk at the base of Uluru. At this point
you can take a full base walk, climb Uluru if you choose to
do so, or join the Aboriginal guided Kuniya Walk +. Please
note that the Kuniya Walk is in place of doing the base walk
or climbing Uluru for clients that give priority to having
a direct indigenous experience on tour.
Of
course no Uluru tour would be complete without experiencing
the famous changing colours of Uluru at sunset, complete with
sparkling wine and nibbles. It's a great time to kick back
and contemplate the day and the vastness of the desert.

(Ayers Rock) and Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) before rolling up
the swags and heading off to Kata Tjuta for a leisurely 7km
walk through the "Valley of the Winds". After a stop at the
Resort for fuel and refreshments we're off to Kings Creek
Cattle Station for our second night bush camping, situated
at our idylic and private campsite which really is 'Way-outback",
complete with unique bush toilet and shower.
With
nobody else for miles, this camp has stunning views out over
the George Gill Ranges and gives you a real feel for the outback.

"Garden of Eden" if you wish.
Later
we start making our way back to Alice Springs travelling on
a typical outback dirt road. We'll drop you back at your hostel/hotel

Time
and Space to Feel the Heartbeat of the Desert
Wayoutback offers an authentic outback adventure tour with
a touch of style and quality. We are a genuine small group
operator carrying a maximum of 16 people in purpose built
4-wheel drive vehicles. As well as experiencing the wonders
of Uluru (tour Ayers Rock), Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) and Watarrka
(Kings Canyon), we'll give you the opportunity to really experience
the desert; driving on dirt roads, bush camping, eating quality
food cooked over a campfire and sleeping under the clearest
southern stars you can imagine.
Learn
From the Traditional Aboriginal Land Owners
Recently we introduced a new option at Uluru giving you the
opportunity to experience and learn directly from the indigenous
land owners of Central Australia. While at Uluru you can go
on the Aboriginal guided Kuniya Walk+ where you will learn
a great deal from Anangu about their mythological stories
tied to Uluru and the intimate relationship they have with
it. Please note that the Kuniya Walk is in place of doing
the base walk or climbing Uluru for clients that give priority
to having a direct indigenous experience on tour. + Cost additional
to Wayoutback tour.
Our
Guides Among the Best
One of the most important aspects of Wayoutback is the caliber
of our guides. They are among the best in Central Australia
through their enthusiasm and ability to bring people together
to have the best time. This is backed up with extensive local
knowledge of geology, the Aboriginal (Anangu) people, plus
local and European history.
